Staverton & Landscove Garden Show

Rules

  1. The Executive of the Staverton & Landscove Garden Show shall consist of a President, Chair, Vice-
    Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Show Secretary and a Committee to be elected annually.
  2. All exhibits are to be grown or made by the person by whom they are exhibited, except Sections
    C and X (fowers may be purchased).
  3. No Exhibitor will be allowed to take more than one prize for the same kind of exhibit in any particular class.
  4. Intending Exhibitors are requested to send to the Show Entries Hon. Secretary their entries on the form that is in the schedule or on the web site or may be phoned through, by Saturday 28 July 2018. Late entries at double entrance fee. No entry forms accepted after 12 noon on Friday 3 August 2018.
  5. All exhibits to be brought to the Show Tent by 9:30 am on the morning of the Exhibition, nothing to be received after that time, and no exhibit to be taken away before 5:00 pm without special permission from the Secretary.
  6. Vegetables must be sent in washed and trimmed. Anyone sending in more or less than the number stated to be disqualified. Collections of vegetables to be shown in baskets or trays, or some other suitable receptacle. Onions from sets, shallots, beans, peas, potatoes and fruit to be sent on a plate or dish—rhubarb, carrots, leeks, spring onions, parsnip and beet to be tied in bunches. Lettuce to be shown in one container. Beet simply washed.
  7. The Committee claim the right, if they think necessary, to visit any Exhibitor's garden or allotment, either before or after the show.
  8. All exhibits, personal property, etc. shall be at the risk of the Exhibitor; the Committee shall not be liable for compensation for loss or damage from any cause whatsoever.
  9. The decision of the Judges or Committee upon any question in dispute to be final. All protests to be lodged by 4:00 pm to the Secretary.
  10. Prizes need not be awarded to exhibits considered to be below standard.
  11. Cups and special prizes etc. will be presented by the President at 4:45 pm. Cash prizes can be collected from the Hon. Treasurer between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, subject to any protest.
  12. Protest Committee: Chairman, Secretary, President and/or any Committee member required.
  13. Any Exhibitor winning a Perpetual Cup three years in succession will be presented with a replica.
  14. Cups for engraving should be left with the Secretary after the presentation. Winners taking cups away will be responsible for paying for the engraving themselves.
  15. All exhibits must not have been previously shown at the Staverton and Landscove Garden Show.
  16. All ages must be submitted on the entry form if under 16 years of age (Junior).
